Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the religious Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has announced the start of a new phase of conflict with Israel in a published message.
Khamenei wrote on X (Formerly Twitter) at dawn on Wednesday, June 18, 2025: “In the name of the revered Haydar, the battle begins. Ali, with his Zulfiqar, returns to Khaybar.”
This message was released amid escalating military tensions between Iran and Israel.
The tweet comes as Iranian officials have recently vowed a “severe and decisive” retaliation against Israeli attacks on Tehran.
