Lebanon has announced that several of its soldiers, including an officer, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported on Saturday, June 6, that Israel targeted a Lebanese Army military vehicle in an airstrike.
According to the report, the Lebanese Army said the strike took place on the Khardali–Nabatieh road and was carried out by Israel.
The Lebanese Army did not specify how many soldiers were killed in the attack.
Following Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel in support of Iran, the Israeli military entered southern Lebanon and launched deadly airstrikes against towns and villages in the area.
This comes after the United States announced on Wednesday that Lebanon and Israel had reached a ceasefire agreement.
However, Hezbollah has said it will not accept any ceasefire agreement that does not guarantee Israel’s full withdrawal from southern Lebanon.
