The chiefs of staff of the armed forces of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey have held talks to discuss ways to support Riyadh under the Mecca Pact.
Dawn reported on Friday night, Sept. 25, that Turkey’s Ministry of National Defence announced the meeting.
According to the report, Turkey’s Ministry of National Defence did not specify where the meeting was held. However, it had previously announced that General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, chief of the Turkish General Staff, would travel to Saudi Arabia.
The meeting comes as Saudi Arabia has recently faced renewed tensions between the Houthi movement and the Yemeni government.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had said that the three countries were considering a meeting between their military commanders to assess ways to support Riyadh under the Mecca Pact.
