Pakistan’s Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has rejected reports claiming that the Taliban shot down a fighter jet and that its pilot was detained.
The newspaper The Nation reported on Sunday, March 1, citing Pakistan’s Ministry of Information, that no aircraft has been shot down by the Taliban so far.
According to the report, some old videos alleging the downing of Pakistani jets have been circulated.
This comes as sources say the Taliban detained an Afghan parachutist yesterday in Nangarhar, claiming he was a Pakistani pilot.
According to the sources, the Taliban arrested the parachutist and beat him, but he was later released.
Meanwhile, Pakistani aircraft reportedly bombed Bagram Airfield in Parwan province last night.
