Local sources in Paktia say that one child was killed and four others were injured when a mortar shell fired by Pakistani forces exploded.

Sources told Hasht-e Subh Daily on Friday, October 30, that the incident occurred in Shpole Khula village in Dand Patan district, near the Durand Line.

According to the sources, the mortar shell did not explode when it was fired by Pakistani forces. It detonated later when the children approached it.

Two days earlier, two children were killed after Pakistani forces fired heavy weapons at the border town of Torkham in Nangarhar province.

Meanwhile, Pakistani forces have launched several attacks on Afghanistan’s border provinces over the past five days.
