The Muslim World League has condemned Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, saying that strikes targeting Mecca and Medina violate the sanctity of the two holy cities.
Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the league’s secretary-general, described the attacks as a “betrayal of religion and Muslims” in a statement on Friday, November 6.
The league expressed its “full solidarity” with Saudi Arabia and backed the country’s efforts to protect civilians and holy sites.
Saudi officials have reported several missile and drone attacks near Mecca and Medina since fighting resumed.
The Houthis, however, have denied the allegations.
