At least 22 people have died, and hundreds are missing following severe flooding in Nepal.
Al Jazeera reported on Wednesday, August 26, that 384 tourists have gone missing in the floods, 291 of whom are citizens of countries including Britain, the United States, India and Malaysia.
According to the report, the floods swept away villages and damaged roads, bridges and power-generation projects in areas near Tibet.
Officials said water levels in the affected areas of Sipru Basi and Timure, in the mountainous Rasuwa district, had risen so high that helicopters were unable to land there.
Narendra Priyar, the Rasuwa district chief, said: “There may be heavy loss of life or extensive financial damage, but at present I cannot say anything with certainty.”
