The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says that 5.9 million people in Afghanistan received life-saving assistance between January and April.
OCHA said in a post on X on Monday, June 29, that humanitarian funding saves lives.
The UN agency added that, of nearly 6 million aid recipients, 567,000 people received support across multiple sectors.
OCHA emphasized that every contribution matters and that every action helps save lives.
However, OCHA had previously said that, despite half of the year having passed, it had received only 17 percent of its humanitarian funding target so far.
