The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that the needs of families returning to Afghanistan are increasing as the winter months approach.
The organization reported on Tuesday, September 15, that many returning families are arriving in Afghanistan without adequate resources and in uncertain conditions.
OCHA said that some of these families are facing a lack of adequate shelter and limited access to humanitarian assistance.
The organization added that the onset of winter could make conditions more difficult for these families and increase their need for urgent assistance.
OCHA stressed that the timely delivery of humanitarian assistance could help improve the situation of returning families and reduce the difficulties they face.
