Iranian media have reported that, as part of ongoing efforts to facilitate negotiations between the United States and Iran, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir, will travel to Washington after his visit to Tehran.
According to the Tasnim news agency on Thursday, April 16, Munir is expected to depart for the United States tomorrow after returning from Iran.
The visit is described as part of Pakistan’s mediating efforts to resume US–Iran negotiations.
It is worth noting that Munir visited Iran yesterday.
The US publication Axios has reported that Washington and Tehran are close to an agreement to end the war.
