The “Polio-Free Afghanistan” organization has stressed the importance of regular vaccination of children from birth, saying that routine immunisation strengthens children’s immune systems.

The organization said on Tuesday, September 1, on X that children should receive regular vaccinations from birth to age 5.

“Polio Free Afghanistan” added that vaccinating children during every campaign further helps strengthen their immune systems.

The initiative has repeatedly urged families to have their children vaccinated at the scheduled times and to take advantage of vaccination opportunities provided during campaigns.

The remarks come as officials from the Taliban’s Public Health Directorate in Nangarhar said that five positive cases of polio, or infantile paralysis, had been recorded in the province since the beginning of the current year.
