According to local sources, two women have hanged themselves in the provinces of Kapisa and Faryab.
Local sources in Kapisa province say that a 30-year-old woman hanged herself around 9:00 am on Thursday, 28 April, in the village of Badam-Ali in the center of this province. The motive for the event is not yet known.
Local sources in Faryab province also report that a 56-year-old woman hanged herself on Friday, 28 April, in the Qarghan district of this province and ended her life. Sources cite family violence and mental illness as the reasons for her suicide.
It should be noted that since the beginning of the Taliban’s renewed rule in the country, suicide rates have increased. Poverty, unemployment, family violence, and strict Taliban restrictions are among the reasons for such events.
