Second Shipment of 40 Million USD Arrived in Kabul Over the Last Two Days

An additional shipment of cash worth $40 million arrived in Kabul in the last two days.

The Taliban-operated central bank of Afghanistan, Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB), made an announcement through Twitter threads Monday that the money was entrusted a private bank.

The Taliban-controlled DAB expressed gratitude for the receipt of this cash aid and requested that future donations be made through bank transfers.

The Taliban takeover of the country was followed by the sudden termination of international aid and the isolation of Afghanistan’s financial sector, leading to a banking crisis and an economic void. This situation has created challenges for people trying to make a living and has led to the cessation of business operations.

An important shipment valued at $40 million reached Kabul yesterday, according to the Taliban-run Central Bank.
