Residents of Dara-e-Suf district in Samangan Province say that the lack of drinking water poses a serious threat to their lives and livelihoods.
Several residents of Maqsud village in the district said on Saturday, January 3, that due to the drying up of water sources and the absence of water supply networks, access to drinking water for nearly 50,000 families has been severely limited.
According to residents, some families are forced to purchase drinking water at high prices, while others walk for hours to secure the water they need.
It is worth noting that several international organizations in Kabul had previously warned that water levels in the capital are declining year by year, and that if no fundamental solution is found, Kabul could become a waterless city by 2030.
