Local sources say that Mullah Aminullah, a key member of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), was killed in a Pakistani airstrike in the Firqah area of Kandahar city.

Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Tuesday, November 3, that the TTP member was killed during Pakistan’s airstrikes on Kandahar on September 24.

According to the sources, Aminullah had travelled to the Firqah area on the night of the attack to meet with several senior Taliban leaders.

The sources added that he came under Pakistani surveillance following the meeting and was targeted within the Firqah area.

Sources said Mullah Aminullah was unaccompanied by any bodyguards when he travelled to the area and had gone there alone.

The Firqah area of Kandahar is considered one of the city’s important and heavily secured districts, where the residences and guesthouses of several senior Taliban leaders are located.

Local sources also said on September 24 that Pakistani forces had targeted positions in Kandahar in airstrikes, including a facility associated with a special unit of Taliban fighters in the Sarai Mullah Sahib area of the city’s Ninth District.
