Local sources in Faizabad, the capital of Badakhshan province, say that the sound of light and heavy gunfire was heard in the city moments ago.

Sources said on Tuesday, August 11, that the sound of gunfire continued for several minutes.

According to the sources, the number of casualties and the extent of damage caused by the incident have not yet been determined.
