The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the recent explosion that struck passengers aboard a train in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province in Pakistan.

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wrote on Sunday, May 24, on the social media platform X that several civilians had been killed and wounded in the incident.

Balkhi stated that civilian casualties, from any side and in any form, must be condemned.

These remarks come as a bomb explosion targeting a train carrying Pakistani security forces and their families in Balochistan province killed at least 24 people.

According to a Reuters report, the separatist group the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.
