The Ministry of Finance under Taliban control has announced that customs tariffs on several imported goods have been increased.
The ministry said on Monday, September 28, that the customs tariff on bottles had increased from 12 to 16 percent, construction paint from 16 to 30 percent, and leather footwear from 50 to 80 percent.
The customs tariff on gypsum has also increased from 50 to 80 percent, while the tariff on sanitary diapers has risen from 20 to 25 percent.
Meanwhile, the customs tariff on cardiac stents has been reduced from eight percent to 3.5 percent.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Finance added that the measures were taken to support domestic production and promote trade.
