Kabul – The National Resistance Front (NRF), led by Ahmad Massoud, claims that their men attacked the Royal Palace in the Jabal Saraj district of Parwan province.
“The attack took place at around 7:00 pm on Friday night,” said Hamid Saifi, a commander of the (NRF) to Hasht-e Subh.
According to him, several Taliban members were killed in the attack, however, he did not say the exact number of casualties in the clash.
This was the second “guerrilla” attack by members of the (NRF) on the Royal Palace in Jabal Saraj district, he also claimed.
Last night, a fierce clash also took place in the Royal Palace area of this district for about ten minutes, according to local sources.
However, Taliban local officials in Parwan deny the Front’s claim.
“Only a few shots were fired at the citadel,” said Shams-ur-Rahman Sediqi, the Taliban governor’s spokesman for Parwan to Hasht-e Subh.
The National Resistance Front (NRF), led by Ahmad Massoud, was established in Panjshir province after the Taliban came to power which occasionally attacks the positions of the Taliban forces in some provinces.
The Taliban, however, have always denied the Front’s involvement in these attacks.
