8 Subh; Kabul: The head of Afghan refugees in turkey has confirmed that a car carrying immigrants, including Afghan refugees in eastern Turkey got into a traffic accident.
Farzana Rashid, a refugee representative in Turkey, told 8 Subh that she had not yet received official information on the number of Afghan refugee casualties.
The Turkish daily Sabah reported that 12 people were killed and 20 others were injured when a passenger bus carrying Afghan, Pakistani, Iranian and Bangladeshi refugees crashed in eastern Turkey.
The incident took place on Sunday morning, the July 11th, in the Moradiye area of the Turkish city of Van on the border with Iran.
Local officials said the accident occurred after a passenger bus carrying migrants crashed into a ditch. This bus caught fire after falling into this pit.
Afghan migrants use Turkey as a transit route to European countries and face serious challenges in this route.
