US President Donald Trump, during his visit to China, expressed hope that relations between the United States and China would reach a higher level.
Fox News reported on Thursday, May 14, that Trump met with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
According to the report, the US president referred to Xi Jinping and said he was honored to be his friend.
The report added that Donald Trump said: “It’s an honor to be with you, it’s an honor to be your friend, and the relationship between China and the USA is going to be better than ever before.”
According to reports, discussions on trade tariffs, the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, and the US–Iran war were among the main topics between the two leaders.
It is worth noting that US officials had previously stated that China could play an important role in resolving the Strait of Hormuz crisis.
