According to a recent United Nations report, anti-Taliban fronts claimed responsibility for 88 attacks in 21 provinces of Afghanistan between May and July.
The UN said in the report that it verified 55 of these attacks, while the number of attacks claimed by anti-Taliban groups reached 30 in July.
According to the report, the Afghanistan Freedom Front, National Resistance Front, Green Unit, Sepah-e Mihan Front, Afghanistan Independence Front, Republic Front, United Front of Afghanistan, Andarab Resistance Front, Freedom and Justice Movement, Islamic Liberation Front of the People of Afghanistan, Islamic Liberation Movement of the People of Afghanistan, and National Mobilization Front claimed responsibility for the attacks.
The report said that armed groups opposing the Taliban became more dispersed and decentralized during this period, with their activities increasingly focused on local areas.
The attacks mainly involved ambushes and assaults on Taliban checkpoints and military facilities.
On July 17, the Sepah-e Mihan Front briefly seized administrative buildings in Yaftal-e Pain district of Badakhshan before withdrawing from the area.
The Afghanistan Freedom Front also attacked a Taliban security forces checkpoint in Zebak district of Badakhshan on July 24.
Taliban Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice personnel were also targeted in attacks in Herat on June 12 and Kabul on June 22.
