The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) has announced that health facilities in impoverished areas are being rehabilitated to improve people’s access to better healthcare services.
The organization said on Wednesday, September 30, on its X account that the facilities are being rehabilitated with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The United Nations said that rehabilitating a health facility means providing doctors with better opportunities to deliver quality healthcare and giving patients improved access to health services.
UN-Habitat said the program aims to improve living conditions for people in impoverished areas.
This comes as many people in remote and underserved areas have limited access to quality healthcare. The rehabilitation of health facilities could improve their access to health services.
