The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) has announced that many people of Afghanistan do not have access to clean water and sanitation facilities.
The organization said on Monday, December 22, on its X page that the lack of access to clean water, especially in informal settlements and deprived areas of Afghanistan, threatens the health and lives of people.
The United Nations has emphasized that clean water, in addition to health, also ensures human dignity and the quality of life for people.
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme has stated: “We must increase our efforts to provide clean water and sanitation services for all.”
Previously, UNICEF had also reported that access to clean water for millions of Afghanistan citizens has become severely limited, and eight out of every 10 Afghanistan citizens drink contaminated water.
