The International Organization for Migration (IOM) says severe flooding has once again affected several remote areas of Nuristan province, and humanitarian response efforts are underway.
In a post on X on Wednesday, August 5, the organization said the flooding occurred following the devastating floods that struck the province last month.
The IOM said it has deployed assessment teams to evaluate conditions in the affected areas and identify urgent humanitarian needs.
According to the organization, the assessments are intended to help coordinate the delivery of life-saving assistance to affected families.
The United Nations added that households with the greatest needs will be prioritized in the distribution of humanitarian aid.
