UN Women has announced that women aid workers in Afghanistan continue to serve their communities despite the risks and challenges they face.
The organization wrote on X on Wednesday, August 19, that women humanitarian workers in Afghanistan need extraordinary will and determination to be present and serve others.
UN Women added that despite the dangers they face, these women continue to work alongside their communities.
The organization also referred to the repeated aftershocks following the 2025 earthquake in eastern Afghanistan and said that women humanitarian workers had continued assisting despite these risks.
On World Humanitarian Day, UN Women praised the efforts and sacrifices of women humanitarian and aid workers in Afghanistan.
