The Office of the United Nations Assistant Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has urged the Taliban to avoid using weapons against protestors who stage peaceful protests.
On Saturday, October 1, UNAMA tweeted that female protesters in Kabul were met with violence and this is not acceptable.
This institution has asked the Taliban to protect the rights of all Afghan people and stop using weapons while dealing with peaceful demonstrations. Peaceful demonstrations are the civil rights of citizens to demand their wants and needs from the government and any group that is caretaking the government.
Following the brutal attack on Kaj Educational Center in West Kabul which resulted in more than 100 causalities, several women and girls protested on Saturday, October 1, in front of Muhammad Ali Jinnah Hospital, where the injured individuals are hospitalized, and Taliban turned the protests into violence.
Sources say that the Taliban dispersed the protesters with aerial fire and prevented the media from covering these protests.
According to the sources, the protesters were surrounded by the Taliban, and some media workers were beaten for covering the event.
