The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that with Japan’s support, it has installed a solar-powered water supply system at a school in Kunar district of Nangarhar province.
On Sunday, December 21, UNICEF wrote on the social media platform X that this system has provided students with access to safe drinking water and plays an important role in improving the educational and health conditions of the school’s students.
UNICEF added that this initiative is part of efforts to support the right to education and improve educational environments in Afghanistan.
This comes as the United Nations Children’s Fund emphasized some time ago that it is installing solar-powered underground water systems to provide clean water for families and children throughout Afghanistan.
This project is being implemented while UNICEF had previously warned that most of the people of Afghanistan do not have access to clean and safe water.
