The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that the Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory at Bamyan Provincial Hospital has been upgraded with modern equipment and its testing capacity expanded.
The organization said on Sunday, September 6, in a post on X that the initiative was carried out with support from the European Union, helping health workers provide faster and more accurate diagnoses.
According to the report, thousands of people in Bamyan and neighboring provinces can now access improved diagnostic services closer to their homes.
Abdul Hamid Safdari, head of the laboratory at Bamyan Provincial Hospital, said the support has strengthened their ability to provide faster and more reliable diagnoses to patients.
The WHO emphasized that strengthening diagnostic services can improve people’s access to quality healthcare.
