Women, Children Among 7 Members of a Family Killed by Gunmen in Balkh

Gunmen in Afghanisan’s Balkh province shot dead 7 members of a family, mostly women and children.

Confirming this incident, Taliban members said the perpetrators of this mass shooting were unidentified individuals.

The Taliban spokesman for Balkh police, Mohammad Asif Waziri, said 7 members of this family were killed by unknown armed men on Friday night, in Jar Qala village of Chimtal district.

The victims included four children, two women and one man, according to the Taliban-appointed spokesman of Balkh police.

No information was immediately available on the reason and motives for this mass shooting.

Since the Taliban’s rise to power in Afghanistan, mass murders, revenge killings and criminal offenses in Afghanistan have increased unprecedentedly.
