The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) has reported that the death sentences of two prisoners, including an Afghan citizen, were carried out at Rafsanjan Prison in Iran.
HRANA said on Saturday, September 5, that the two prisoners had previously been sentenced to death in separate cases on charges of murder.
The report did not provide information about the identity of the Afghan citizen whose sentence was carried out.
According to the report, meanwhile, a murder suspect in Tehran was sentenced to death by Branch 10 of the province’s Criminal Court.
The executions come as the issuing and carrying out of death sentences in Iran have faced widespread criticism from human rights groups and the international community in recent years.
