Sources report that an elderly man disappeared in Kabul city several days ago, and no information about his fate has been obtained so far.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Saturday, May 9, that the individual is Abdul Wahid, known as Baryalai, 61 years old, who has been missing since last Wednesday.
According to sources, he is originally from the Rokha district of Panjshir province and currently resides in the Parwan 2 area of Kabul city.
Sources say that Abdul Wahid left his home at around 8:00 a.m. last Wednesday and has had no contact with his family since.
According to sources, the last recorded location of his phone, after tracking, was in the Company area of Kabul city, after which it was switched off, and no new contact or trace of him has been found.
Abdul Wahid’s family and relatives say he is an ordinary citizen who owns a shop in the Quwai Markaz area of Kabul province and has never faced any particular threats or problems.
Meanwhile, sources also reported today the disappearance of a young girl in the 11th district of Kabul city.
This comes as enforced disappearances and targeted killings have been on the rise in various provinces across the country in recent days, with two children having gone missing in Takhar province just days ago.
