The European Union has allocated €50,000 in new funding to support victims of recent floods in Afghanistan.
The European Union’s Office for Humanitarian Aid reported on Wednesday, June 3, that this assistance has been directed to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Afghanistan.
According to the report, the funds will be used to assist families affected by the floods, including the provision of shelter, cash assistance, drinking water, and healthcare services.
The European Union has emphasized that this aid aims to strengthen the humanitarian response and reduce the consequences of the floods in the affected areas of Afghanistan.
The EU’s Office for Humanitarian Aid stated that with this new contribution, the total EU financial support has reached €225,000.
This assistance comes as recent floods in Afghanistan have claimed dozens of lives and, by destroying homes and roads, have displaced and left many families homeless.
