Former Security Force Commander Unlawfully Killed by Taliban in Badakhshan

A commander of the former public uprising forces – also known as local police forces – was unlawfully killed by Taliban fighters in Badakhshan province.

Sources confirmed that the commander’s name was Fazel Khan, adding that the Taliban shot him in public on Friday (November 11th) while he was going to Friday prayers near the mosque where he lived.

The Taliban have not said anything about this news so far.

Fazel was one of the prominent commanders in Jerm District, Northern Badakhshan Province, and he played a prominent role in campaigns against the Taliban during the former republic government.

This is despite the fact that two days ago, the Taliban illegally shot dead another soldier of the former regime in the same province.
