The Palestinian Ministry of Health has announced that the death toll from Israel’s war on Gaza has surpassed 72,000 people, with tens of thousands more wounded.
Al Jazeera reported on Sunday, May 31, that according to the latest figures from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 72,939 Palestinians have been killed and 172,927 others wounded since the war began on October 7, 2023.
In its most recent report, the Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that hospitals across Gaza received one body and eight wounded persons in the past 24 hours.
The ministry added that despite a ceasefire announcement in October of last year, Israeli attacks have continued, during which an additional 930 people were killed and 2,819 others were wounded.
This comes as the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to be reported as dire, with shortages in healthcare services and necessities deepening concerns over a rising death toll.
