The residents of Malistan district, Ghazni province demanded “retributive justice” from the Taliban for the intentional killing of a student of a religious school.
Residents of Ghazni’s Malistan district raised this request on Tuesday (November 8th) after the district governor of the Taliban admitted that they killed Mohammad Zaman Wakili, a student of a madrassa, based on an allegedly false report.
A number of residents of Malistan district and the family members of the victim, in a meeting with the local officials of the Taliban, have demanded the execution of the sentence of ‘retaliation in kind’ on the murderer.
The killing of the religious student by the Taliban has sparked widespread outcry among social media users.
“The verdict of intentional murder in Sharia is retribution in kind, and the verdict of wrongful murder is blood money or financial compensation (Diya) in Islamic jurisprudence, and now the Taliban must implement this Islamic verdict,” Shaikh Alizada Malistani, a religious instructor, posted on his Facebook page.
Mohammad Zaman Wakili, a religious student, was killed two days ago by Taliban forces in Maknak village, Malistan district.
This petition has been raised by the people of Malistan, while the Taliban have, several times, taken millions of afghanis as blood money or ransom for the murder of Pashtun nomads in the past decades from the residents of this district.
