Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, has called on countries to work together to prevent rising nuclear risks and move closer to the goal of eliminating nuclear weapons.
Guterres wrote on his X account on Wednesday, September 30, that for the first time in more than half a century, there are no binding limits on strategic nuclear arsenals.
He said this situation weakens international security and increases concerns over nuclear arsenals.
The UN Secretary-General called on all countries to participate constructively in every effort that brings the world closer to the complete elimination of nuclear weapons.
Guterres stressed that international cooperation remains essential to reducing nuclear risks and moving toward disarmament.
