Iranian media outlets have reported the execution of Qaim Hosseini, a foreign national, on charges of participating in protests in the country last winter.
Mizan News Agency reported on Thursday, August 20, that Qaim Hosseini, son of Arbabali, known as “Arian,” was a foreign national.
Iranian state media did not specify Hosseini’s nationality.
However, some Iranian media outlets operating outside the country have identified him as an Afghan citizen.
These outlets, citing sources, reported that Qaim Hosseini was the cousin of Gol Mohammad Mohammadi, another Afghan citizen who was previously executed in connection with the protests.
In recent months, however, numerous reports have emerged of Afghan nationals being executed in prisons across Iran.
