Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan have stressed the need to continue consultations to contain tensions during a phone call.
Tasnim reported early Sunday, September 13, that the two foreign ministers discussed regional issues.
According to the report, the Iranian and Turkish foreign ministers discussed the latest regional developments and stressed the need to prevent tensions from escalating and the crisis from spreading further.
The two foreign ministers also expressed support for diplomatic efforts to help restore stability and calm in the region.
This comes as tensions and clashes between Iran and the United States in recent months have made the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz highly insecure, raising concerns about the conflict spreading across the region.
