Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that, in response to a US attack on an area near Bandar Abbas airport, it targeted a “US airbase.”
According to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency on Thursday, May 28, the IRGC said the attack took place at 4:50 a.m. local time.
The report states that the IRGC described the base as the origin of the “aggression” by the United States, but did not provide details about its exact location.
This comes after earlier reports of US forces striking an area in the outskirts of Bandar Abbas.
The IRGC also warned that no “aggression” will go unanswered and that any military action will face a “stronger response.”
Tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated in recent days, raising concerns about a wider regional conflict.
