The Afghan Red Crescent Society under Taliban control has announced that 150 flood-affected families in Tagab district of Badakhshan province have received 1,575,000 Afghanis in cash assistance.
The Afghan Red Crescent Society said on Saturday, August 8, on its X page that 10,500 Afghanis had been paid to each family.
The assistance was distributed with support from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to meet the basic needs of families affected by the floods.
Rainfall and flash floods in parts of Afghanistan have caused damage to several families in recent months.
These incidents have destroyed homes and agricultural land in some areas, leaving affected families facing serious livelihood difficulties.
