OCHA: 79% of Households in Afghanistan Have No Adequate Access to Heating in the Coming Winter

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 79 percent of Afghanistan’s households will not have heating access this coming winter.

OCHA announced on Tuesday (October 25th) that 79% of Afghan households do not have fuel to heat up their homes in the coming winter.

OCHA’s report shows that 79% of Afghan households must repair their houses in winter.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs also said that 56% of Afghan families do not have winter clothes for their children.

Earlier, the United Nations reported a 97% increase in the poverty rate in Afghanistan.
