The “Polio-Free Afghanistan” initiative has urged families to contribute to the fight against polio by ensuring their children receive timely vaccinations.
In a post on X on Thursday, June 25, the organization said that polio and other vaccine-preventable diseases can be eliminated through public cooperation and collective participation.
The initiative stressed that timely vaccination protects children against dangerous diseases and helps prevent serious health complications.
Efforts to eradicate polio in Afghanistan continue to face several challenges.
Insecurity, difficult access to remote areas, and limited awareness about the importance of vaccination are among the obstacles hindering the campaign to eliminate the disease.
Health organizations have repeatedly emphasized that the only effective way to protect children against polio is to ensure they receive all recommended vaccine doses on schedule.
