Reuters reported that a $300 billion private fund designed to stimulate investment in Iran is outlined in the US–Iran framework agreement, and more than half of that amount has already been committed.
Reuters, on Tuesday, June 16, reported, citing a knowledgeable source, that the fund is designed to create economic incentives for both sides to reach a final agreement to end the war.
According to the report, companies based in the United States, Gulf Arab states, Asia, South America, and Africa have agreed to provide funding for the initiative.
This comes as US President Donald Trump has repeatedly criticized what he described as “billions of dollars in payments” by the Barack Obama administration to Iran following the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
