Russian media have reported that Moscow has begun evacuating 198 Russian workers from the Bushehr nuclear power plant following U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on the area surrounding the facility.

TASS news agency reported on Saturday, April 4, quoting Alexey Likhachev, General Director of Rosatom, that vehicles carrying staff left about 20 minutes after the attack and are being transported toward the Armenian border.

He added that the workers are expected to return to their homes within two to three days.

The International Atomic Energy Agency has announced that one member of the plant’s security team was killed and one of the buildings was also damaged following the attack.

Likhachev identified the individual as an Iranian national.
