Sources in Ghazni province say the Taliban municipality in the province has inaugurated, for the second time, a project to widen both sides of the Kabul-Kandahar Highway inside Ghazni city.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Thursday, September 17, that the Taliban municipality began work on widening the route in October last year, but the project was halted after a few days.
According to the sources, the municipality has inaugurated the project for the second time at a time when it is likely that work on the project will be halted again within a month due to Ghazni province’s cold climate.
This comes as the municipality is currently implementing several small road construction projects in Ghazni city. However, residents say that the slow pace of work has created serious transportation challenges for the people.
