Local sources in Nusay district of Badakhshan province say that clashes between anti-Taliban forces and fighters of the group have begun near the base of forces led by Jumakhan Fateh.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Tuesday, August 11, that the clash between the two sides began after Taliban fighters shot a civilian named Mustafa in the village of “Qughuz.”
According to the sources, the fighting is currently continuing in the village of “Zaghar,” near the birthplace of Jumakhan Fateh.
The sources add that Taliban fighters have suffered casualties during the clashes.
This comes as attacks by the Freedom Front and other anti-Taliban fronts have increased in various parts of Badakhshan in recent days.
