Sources from Daikundi say that a young woman in the province was killed by her former husband.
The sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Tuesday, August 25, that the woman was killed yesterday before noon in the “Eskan” area of Miramor district in Daikundi province.
According to the information, the 25-year-old woman was shot dead by her former husband.
Sources said that the woman had separated from her husband some time ago and had a dispute with him at the Miramor Primary Court over receiving her dowry.
It has been reported that while the woman was traveling toward the district center to follow up on her case, she was stopped on the way by her former husband and killed.
However, sources said that the woman’s former husband fled the area and that the Taliban have so far been unable to arrest him.
This comes as violence, restrictions, and discrimination against women have increased further since the Taliban returned to power.
