The Taliban’s Ministry of Justice says it has taken control of 179 acres of land in Nangarhar province.
In a statement posted on its Facebook page on Thursday, August 6, the ministry said the land is located in the Kashk area of Surkh Rod district, Nangarhar province.
According to the Taliban, documents related to the land were reviewed by the Special Court for the Adjudication of Cases Involving Usurped Emirate Lands in the Central Zone. Following legal procedures, the land was transferred to the ministry’s control.
Since returning to power, the Taliban have taken control of numerous plots of land and residential areas across Afghanistan, claiming they belong to the “Islamic Emirate.”
In several cases, however, the Taliban’s claims of ownership have been challenged by local residents and landowners.
