Two old men were tortured by the Taliban for wearing pakol – a soft, flat, rolled-up, round-topped, woolen men’s cap – in Panjshir province.
Sources told Hasht-e Subh that the two men were arrested and tortured by the Taliban on Sunday (September 26th) in Kharo village, district 1, Panjshir province.
Sources add that these two men were benevolent elders of the Kharo region and were not affiliated with any group.
Sources emphasize that the Taliban tortured Fazl Manullah and Mohammad al-Rahman for wearing the Pakol hat and being from Panjshir.
Previously, the Taliban have arrested, tortured and shot dead dozens of civilians in Panjshir.
Based on the findings of Hasht-e Subh, during the clashes of the last two weeks in Panjshir, the Taliban have killed at least 16 civilians in various parts of Panjshir.
